Before capture starts, we agree what fields matter, how assets should be named, the required positional accuracy and the final format. This avoids collecting unnecessary data while missing the details maintenance teams need.

Deliverables can include an asset register, map, photographic record and spatial data suitable for CAD, GIS or another agreed system.

A consistent asset record makes inspection, maintenance, planning and contractor handover easier. It also reduces reliance on old plans and individual memory.
